Earthing blade moves by rotating in the vertical axis and making electrical contact with the disconnector/busbar. While disconnectors are closed, earthing blade is perpendicular to the insulator stack and earthing blade rotates around the pivot until it makes dead center contact with the disconnector contacts. After earthing blade settles into the fix contacts, earthing blade can not be opened due to the any external factors in this position.
It means safe earthing is ensured.SMC interlock between the disconnector and the earthswitch is highly reliable, thus ensuring complete reliable operation of the electrical grid.
